Have you noticed any changes in the latest version of the Media Platform? You may be right! In our latest release 2.3.1, we made several changes and have added new features. Join us over the next 6 weeks as I highlight some of the improvements that may be useful and interesting to you.

To make sure everyone is on the right track, I will go through some of the changes made. Learn about the benefits that you already have but may not even know about, so that you can take full advantage of the portal.

The user interface changed slightly. Both the Menu structure and layout have shifted a bit for better navigation. If you were used to using the Self-Care button to manage your preferences, customizations and requests, look for it under the new name Self-Service. More options were added to the shopping cart, such as the possibility to continue shopping, empty cart, or view content in specific categories.

Another visual improvement is the progress bar. Notice the difference when activating Start-Over or Time Shift TV. The time now also reflects the length of the episode, starting at 0:00 and ending at 30:00, not the time of the airing. It also enables a consumer to seek to an exact time in the episode, an improvement to blindly seeking to the right spot with no time display to guide you.

Now, for the improvements that may be harder to spot but provide a real perk. The reaction time for switching channels has decreased, so that browsing through channels is more fluid. It is quite noticeable when you quickly press the arrow buttons that the recognition of activity is more sensitive. And the last change I will highlight is the seek fast forward a backward button >> and <<. Instead of skipping forward and backward in 1 and 10 minute intervals, it now skips in 30 second and 10 minute intervals. Seeking to your favorite part just became more convenient.

We bet these changes will work for your benefit as tools rather than distractions to watching TV. Coming up next, we have the new features on the EPG and Web Portal. See you next Thursday!
