Components

Our goal is to enable small and medium sized Internet Service Providers to provide highly competitive multimedia services based on a Set Top Box for the consumer market compared to the offers from the largest operators and incumbents.

Platform Introduction

A detailed technical overview of the Platform. Find out about its components and the decision behind the design.

Storage

nangu.TV uses a specifically designed stream-oriented cluster storage system. This cluster layer uses standard server components without the need for SAN infrastructure.

Application Server

The heart of the system. It is designed as a scalable application that provides the complete middleware environment for a customer.

Cache

nangu.TV Media Platform contains a component called Media Cache, which is a combination of streamer and storage, and can be deployed throughout the network and act as a distribution point to cover a larger location.

Clients

Customers can access anywhere and anytime through various devices supported by Platform. This includes set-top-boxes (STB), PC’s, tablets and smartphones.

Reflector

High performance component (reached 15Gbps throughput on high-end SUN server) capable of translating from different sources of input to different output formats.

Monitoring

Monitoring is an essential part of day-to-day life of the platform. It helps to quickly troubleshoot errors as they happen as well as prevent them from happening by providing early warnings.

MAS

The Media Acquisition System is a standalone component used for content aggregation and preparation for deployment on various Media Platforms.

DRM

Protection of media assets is a very frequently discussed topic in these days. There are several implementations of DRM systems as well as several attempts for standardization.

Streamer

nangu.TV supports multiple delivery methods and we are working on implementation of new ones.
