Components
The nangu.TV platform is software-based without the need for specialized and customized hardware. All components run on Debian GNU/Linux systems.
- nangu.TV Middleware
- Middleware is implemented as an enterprise application in J2EE running in JBoss. It provides an extensive set of features for the management of services delivered with the Media Platform. The application is designed as a multilayer system with support for theming, internationalization, system scaling and failover. The broad range of interfaces is provided for easy integration with customer systems (SOAP and XML-RPC based).
- nangu.TV Storage Cluster
- The key component of every Video Platform is storage. nangu.TV uses a specifically designed stream-oriented cluster storage system. This cluster layer uses standard server components without the need for SAN infrastructure. The storage has built-in support for redundancy, load-balancing and fail-over.
- nangu.TV Streamer
- The nangu.TV Media Streamer offers a reliable and flexible solution to stream on-demand video content towards end consumers via IP. It has been designed using mainstream hardware components to provide a compelling value to price ratio. It is implemented as an RTSP compliant streamer, but can provide unique features if used with a nangu.TV RTSP client. One of the key features is the set-top box fail-over. With this feature, STB is able to switch to a different streamer in the case of problems without any visible degradation of the delivered service.
- nangu.TV Media Cache
- Media Cache is combination of streamer and storage. Due to the dynamic metric, it helps to efficiently distribute the load over your network.
- nangu.TV Media Acquisition System
- The Media Acquisition System is a standalone component used for content aggregation and preparation for deployment on various Media Platforms. It supports automatic downloading, encoding and provisioning of media to the target platform. The cluster of computers for encoding is supported, therefore several movies can be encoded in parallel.
- nangu.TV Mosaic RealTime Encoder
- The mosaic encoder is a dedicated appliance which is able to combine several live IPTV streams (unencrypted) and form stream with previews of processed channels. The mosaic dimensions are configurable from the administration interface, but can be purchased and used separately.
- nangu.TV STB Framework
- JavaScript framework is available in order for our partners to speed up the integration of their applications on the STB running nangu.TV platform. The framework delivers such functions as pre-caching, united event handling, event scheduling and much more within an easy object-oriented interface.
- nangu.TV nVoD Streamer
- The Near Video on Demand streamer is a specialized application for streaming stored media to the network to mimic live TV broadcasts. Streaming is controlled by XML based play-lists with extensive syntax to facilitate operations such as repetition and others.
