Reflector is powerful video proxy solution for reflecting / multiplying live video content in your network. Typical usage scenarios include

Stream Subscription Control in non-fat Tree Network Environments

This feature is typically used by operators who don't want to use multicast at their access networks, especially if wireless links are used for connecting these access networks to the backbone (e.g. block of flats with standard copper based LAN is connected via wireless to the fiber part of the network).

Stream Subscription Control is smart way how to deliver only those channels which are needed to the access network without overloading the wireless link. Furthermore operator can use assured transport protocol between reflectors and/or the end device (e.g. set-top-box) to provide further resilience against packet drops.
