nangu.TV VVAS platform address this need and aim at delivering video content when requested. With the key components that nangu.TV offers, it is possible to offer to the end users the following services:
Virtual Video Recorder (VVR)
We all know the frustration that overwhelms us when looking at today’s TV listings. We simply cannot handle all the information necessary to choose what to watch, and we become frustrated because we know there are things we want to watch. Just the logistics alone of taping the programmes that you for some reason are not able to watch – not to mention if you want to tape more than one programme at the same time – is very cumbersome.
VVR can record any TV programming for the users while they are busy doing other things and play it back to them at a later time.
To use VVR, you can explicitly tell the application what programs you want to record to your account but you can also give some generic information about your tastes: VVR intelligence allows the individual consumer to specify the areas he is interested in: What particular series, shows, movies, actors, characters, topics etc. does the consumer want to follow. VVR will then provide these recorded programmes for the consumer. For example if you are a big fan of Clint Eastwood, the system could record automatically all the movies with Clint Eastwood that are being broadcast.
All the programs that you decide to record are stored on your account. The account is a virtual place that can be accessed using various devices (3G phones, set top box, PC, …)
TV in the past
TV in the Past is the perfect complement service of VVR. With this service, the subscribers have the possibility to stream to their display programs that were broadcast the last N days (N to be determined by the service providers). As a result, you don’t need to program in advance the shows that you want to watch. You can request a given show once it has been broadcast and watch it on the device that you chose.
With VVR and TVIP combined, the viewer can decide whatever he wants to see, when ever and where ever he wants to see it.
