Our team is expanding
Just in the last month we welcomed three new hires, and we are waiting anxiously for many more to come. We are glad to have three skilled members join the teams: Android, UI/UX Design and Operations.

Last month we had the opportunity to be a partner at the TV CON event in Prague. The event focused on television technology for end users. The day was filled with presentations from various companies that all have something to do with the television industry whether it be TV suppliers, technology and app developers, or content owners and consumers.

We are back from TV Connect, pumped by the inspirational pieces of the other exhibitors and grandeur of our solution. Before we get back to work, I’d like to share with you some of our observations.
Our main messages for TV Connect in London were
The year 2014 started off well as nangu.TV ventured over to Moscow for the CSTB exhibition in late January. Apart from reconnecting with old partners and acquaintances, we got to meet countless amounts of new faces. The event was large in and of itself that the three days were barely enough to get an idea of who all was present. On top of that we had meetings scheduled back to back throughout the three days.

When creating a new display on the TV, everything starts with the User Experience Designer (UXD). The UXD envisions the product and guides the look and feel of it.

There are so many products on our shelves today that first impressions are usually made by outer appearances alone. Although a customer may eventually be persuaded by the impressive inside, a bad design is a real turnoff.

Most of us by now are familiar with the term set top box, or at least we know that the TVs need the little black box next to them to be able to work. What matters to most, is that the TV works, they can kick up their feet and channel surf. The mechanics inside that black box are beyond them, let alone the idea of how it even gets inside.
In the past couple of weeks we brought on board two new members. They will strengthen the Operations team which is the backbone of the entire Platform. They monitor all TV streams around the clock and act as the first contact point for customers when they have any issues or concerns about their streams. In reality, the Operations team is the first to catch any of the issues, even before the owners call report a problem, and intervene proactively before any escalation can threaten the broadcasts.

To spice things up a bit, we organized a trip to the local archery center over the lunch break. The instructor explained about the bows and then we started shooting at the targets. Because everything can be turned into a competition, we competed for the highest overall score and the best shot at a picture of a deer. We had many bulls eyes, but we had some complete misses as well. It was a fun break and then we all returned to the office and got back to work.
